find and read: explore canonical context
"Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart." Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Help the children locate the story in a Bible. Look at what happens before and after the story and summarize or read that along with the story, depending on the reading skill of your children. Help them understand where the story fits in to the Gospel/biblical narrative.
